Press Release - January 18, 2011
The Nonprofit Risk Management Center is pleased to announce that Canfield has enrolled as the Center’s newest Corporate Sustainer. As a Corporate Sustainer, Canfield expresses their public support for the mission and educational programs of the Nonprofit Risk Management Center. Also, Canfield and the nonprofit insurance program that it administers—the
Non Profit Insurance Program or “NPIP”—will also serve as hosts of the Center’s annual conference scheduled for September 18-20 in Seattle, WA.
“During the past several years we have worked closely with the team from Canfield to design and deliver high quality training for participants in the Non Profit Insurance Program (NPIP),” notes Melanie Lockwood Herman, Executive Director of the Center. “It is gratifying to see Canfield step up its support and we are absolutely delighted that Canfield and NPIP will be co-hosting our 2011 Summit. NPIP has grown impressively over the years and now offers coverage in five states (ID, IL, MT, WA, TX and OR). By offering an array of risk management services in addition to affordable, comprehensive coverage, the overall philosophy of NPIP and Canfield dovetails perfectly with the Center’s educational mission. I speak for the Board and staff of the Center in expressing our deep gratitude for Canfield’s decision to upgrade its support to the Corporate Sustainer level.”
Brian Turnbull, Director of NPIP for Canfield says, “Ever since we have had the opportunity to work directly with the Nonprofit Risk Management Center we feel we have found a true partner and resource that benefits all the nonprofits we serve. The Center brings a sincere passion for helping nonprofits succeed and they combine this passion with quality and reliable services that deliver results any organization can trust.”
“Our relationship with the Nonprofit Risk Management Center has truly helped NPIP become what it is today. We are thrilled with the support from the Center,” notes Darren Brugmann, President of NPIP and Director of Transportation for Senior Services of Snohomish County in Washington State. “The relationship with the Center has helped all NPIP member agencies concentrate on what they do best—providing quality of life services to our public. We are proud and honored to help host their 2011 conference in Seattle and look forward to helping see the mission of the Center become a reality to nonprofits everywhere.”
About the Nonprofit Risk Management Center and the Corporate Sustainers Program
The Nonprofit Risk Management Center, established in 1990, provides assistance and resources for community-serving nonprofit organizations. As a nonprofit itself, the Center is uniquely positioned to both understand and respond to questions with practical, affordable suggestions for controlling risks that threaten a nonprofit’s ability to accomplish its mission. Participants in the Corporate Sustainers Program pay an annual fee to the Center, which supports the Center’s technical assistance program and covers the cost of corporate sponsorship of the Center’s annual Risk Management and Finance Summit for Nonprofits.
